Our mission is to provide an archival site for study, reference, research and preservation of Beaver County documents and books, both historical and genealogical; to encourage the preservation of public and private records, genealogical data, and cemetery data pertaining to Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
The Center was partially funded by the Beaver County Commissioners from 1974 until 2016 when all funding was cut. We are staffed by volunteers and fees for research, book sales, donations, and membership currently support our mission. Please donate today.
The Research Center was founded by the Beaver County Commissioners, the Carnegie Library in Beaver Falls, the Beaver Falls Historical Society in 1971. The Beaver County Genealogy Society was founded in 1974. In 2008 the Research Center for Beaver County and the Beaver County Genealogical Society merged to form the Beaver County Genealogy and History Center to better serve the public.
In 2013, the History Center moved to Beaver Station Cultural & Event Center in Beaver PA. The Center is located in the underground bunker (view map) previously used by the 911 call center. The space is archival and windowless. Temperatures are kept cool to preserve the collection.
